Next challenge

these past 4 weeks have been crazy. shortly after i arrived in vienna, i accepted a post in malawi and ever since i have been crazy organizing visa, flight, equipment, innoculations, while i still tried to see as much of the growing hoepler family, heiner an firends as possible. It was a great time but super exhausting too and now I am already sitting in rome (I have a 7hrs layover) waiting for my flight to Addis Abeba and subseqquently Lilongwe, the capital of Malawi.I have hardly ever been that little prepared for a trip because it all happened so fast. although it is hard to leave once again I am excited to start this new challenge: I will be coordinating an impact evaluation for a transportation pilot project - it is a mixture of a development and a research project with Innovations for poverty action and in collaboration with economists of the University of Michigan. Although I am not paid really (but all expenses are covered), it is exactly the kind of job I was looking for. I will be there for 5 months and hopefully Heiner will come and visit starting from xmas
